电影《偷自行车的人》剧情：After World War II, Rome, like many cities, was plagued with unemployment and poverty. People often fought tooth and nail for a job opportunity. Riddled with unemployment for a long time, Ricci (Lamberto Maggiorani) finally manages to secure a job pasting posters. However, he soon realizes that he needs a bicycle for this job and is left worrying. In order to have a better future, he trades his wifes dowry--bedsheets--for a second-hand bicycle. Much to his dismay, on his first day of work, his bicycle gets stolen. Ricci and his son Bruno (Enzo Staiola) search every street and alley in Rome, but they cant find the bicycle that Riccis very livelihood depends on. Faced with a hopeless situation, Ricci decides to take matters into his own hands, but he doesnt have the same luck as the other thieves.
